Vernis Cosmetic Bag

What a perfect entry to end my year but to post this beautiful LV Vernis Cosmetic Bag. It is priced at $370, hmmm :). No, I am not getting one, not in the next few years as I don't really invest on cosmetic cases (my DIOR cosmetic bag was given to me free and so are my previous cosmetic cases), but this is so delicious on my eye and I would have to say YES if given the chance to own this. I sound blah, don't I? The truth is I am so sleepy right now and I do not know if I will be able to wait for 12 midnight. Anyhow, I am turning into a Mrs. Scrooge this New Year's eve and I don't want to bother you with that.

So here's to another year of finest and beautiful pieces in our closets :) Cheers to 2009!

Media Noche

Media Noche is what we call a New Year's eve dinner. In a few hours from now, we will trooped down to my in-law's house and I am readying myself with the tons of food in their media noche spread. I swear, they would have more than a dozen of dishes whipped and more than 5 different kinds of dessert. I promise myself that after all these holiday eating and feasting, I would take my weight loss challenge diet program seriously by the 1st day of 2009. You see, I have gained more than 5 lbs in a span of a year and I am hoping to lose all of it a month's time. I am doing it the natural way but if I get desperate, who knows I might give in to those safe diet pills available online or over the counter. Speaking of diet pills, you might want to check out lab88.com for their wide selection of effective and safe diet pills. As for myself, I promise not to give in in this easy way of losing weight but after months and months of trying to shed off fats that makes me sometimes desperate and impatient, who knows I might just give in even for once.

a fan.

The 1st time I heard of Aaron Nace and Rosie Hardy's story was when they were featured HERE. Gawd, I was so hooked that I was glued at their (Aaron Nace's and Rosie Hardy's) flickr accounts close to 5 hours. Hubby was also amazed by their genius shots but he could not quite picture their internet love affair. You see, hubby is not into internet, really. If you still do not know what I am talking about, click on the links above and check out their blog here: http://aaronrosieforever.blogspot.com/.

does religion matters?

Does religion matters? For me, it does. I could not imagine my life being married with someone who do not share the same belief as mine or who believes in a different God. I remember a friend who was really madly in love with someone but they share a different religion. Everything in their relationship was smooth-sailing until they got engaged and that was when the problems start to begin. Nobody was willing to compromise where the church wedding will be held. First, they decided on getting married twice, on each of their own churches, but their folks were against it. Until, they had no option but to end the relationship because as the wedding nears, the bigger their fights were. I am not speaking in general here because I also know of a few couples who end up being together despite their religion differences. However, if you are critical on this issue and is looking for a partner, you might want to check out this Catholic Chat Room. This is a new Catholic Chat Room website that gives Catholics a place to meet and chat. Relationships, especially marriages are complicated with reality issues, who wants to make it more complicated because of religion differences?

Wedges are the way to train your heels

I find wedges super sexy. Also, if you do not feel comfortable wearing kitten heels and stilettos, wedges are good training shoes. These shoes are also very practical to invest on as you could wear them from casual to formal and with dresses and jeans.

Currently, Piperlime is having 40% off sale for all their wedges. While the season is not yet ready for these wedges, check out the site to invest on some nice branded wedges for Spring :). Below are my favorite picks!

an opportunity to sort things out

Every week since my school vacation, I have been watching this local show which tackles on how one can save more, cut down on expenses, eliminate unnecessary debts and anything financial-related issues. You see, despite the fact that there is a promise for a better year for all of us as the economic crisis is slowly stabilizing, we still have to be very careful with our finances. According to the show, no matter how bad the economy is, now is the right time to invest on real estate if one has extra funds for it. In fact, a cousin of mine is looking at getting a piece of investment through Wilmington NC Real Estate. I have heard about this company before and even blogged it here before. The Coastal Carolina Properties with contact number: (910) 262-1002, is truly a unique Real Estate Experience. Paul Coffman, a Real Estate Agent/Broker in the Wilmington, NC, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Wrightsville Beach and all Wilmington NC Beaches is called an Exclusive Buyer's Agent/Broker which means he does not just list properties, and represent people buying homes for sale and Real Estate for sale in Wilmington, NC and all surrounding coastal areas but also help people purchase Wilmington NC Real Estate for Sale and homes for sale in Wilmington NC and homes in the Coastal Area of North Carolina. They say the year 2009 is an opportunity for all of us to sort things out, financial-wise, let's all be very careful and take advantage of this opportune time.

Movie of my Life in 2008.

This Monday's a Bitch Meme is quite interesting. Come join us HERE.

1. What would be the title?
>>>Whoa! Let me think, it would be a toss between: The Woman Who Juggles so Many Balls or The Liberated Woman's Coming Out Year hahaha!

2. What would be the tag line?
>>>A woman with 2 selves, 20 fingers, 4 hands and lots of mouth to accommodate all types of food bwahahah!

3. Who would be the main characters? Who would you cast to play them?
>>>Reese Witherspoon, no less.

4. What would be the climax in the story?
>>>During the time I almost gave up on school but saw a light and discovered my purpose for this. :)

5. What song would play for the closing credits?
>>>pocketfull of sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield :)

sectional sofa

I have been meaning to get sectional Couches similar to the one in the picture. And yes I want it in white or cream. However, considering the size of our town home and our energetic toddler, it is not advisable to get a big, long and space-consuming couch such as the one in the photo. Our current Couch is just perfect for the size of our living room because most of the time, it also turns into a mini-playground for our toddler. We rarely hang out at his spacious room because I do most of my paper work downstairs and of course, I have to attend to a lot of kitchen chores.

Anyways, if you are on a furniture hunt, you may want to check the unique and wide selection of Sofas at buycouchesonline.com. I am actually eyeing on one of their Sofa but then again, it is impractical for us to get one. Anyhow, they are currently running a 45% sale. So better take advantage of this opportunity. It is nice to invest on premium and standard quality furniture especially when it comes to your living room as this is the place where we mostly spend time with our visitors and of course, we want to make an impression.

last few minutes.

I was meaning to blog this earlier but it slips my mind. My apologies for posting it this late. You only have barely an hour to hit the sale. Last day today, just enter SALE at checkout to get the extra 25% off. However, if you are not too busy to check the malls, they have larger discounts and more selection in store.

and yes, I am referring to GAP sale hee.

Guess For Free

Hubby is a movie addict, he is the type of person who could name the actors, titles and even quote a line from both famous and classic movies. He is just like that. In fact, he never watches TV shows. He has always been glued to his dvd collection and sometimes watches free movie in the internet. Last Christmas, when the other members of our family were busy with rock band and guitar hero, hubby was busy playing free movie trivia with another cousin. Goodness, you should see how good they were. I was freaked out. I mean I will never win over them, I just won't. If you are bored and wanted something new to try on your idle time, check out guessforfree.com. They have all sorts of game trivia not only about movies, but also sports, celebrities, finance, politics, awards and televisions. You could even get ideas from their trivia and make this a game on New Year's eve. Check it out now. This reminds me I have to come up with our New Year’s eve program activities and games. Or else we will all end up listening to our rock band and guitar hero stars again hee.

Charlotte Russe 50% off sale

Charlotte Russe is currently making another 50% off less Sale items round up. There are not much really to see on their sale page but it's worth the try. Nevertheless, if you frequent the malls, they have better stocks in store than online. Unlike with Forever21 online shop which has more new stocks than in store.

If you'd like to check C.R.'s sale, click on the photo.

and yes I am a cheapskate when it comes to my clothes hahah! No designer brands for me :)

outdoor holiday activities

Winter can be depressing at times. You can only do very limited activities inside the house. Thank goodness, as in our part of the world, it has not snowed yet. My friend in Chicago was telling me how much she missed indulging in outdoor activities such as paintball which obviously she cannot do now because it has been heavily snowing in Chicago for at least 12 inches thick of snow! You see, this friend of mine is a very sporty type of girl. I remember how much she collected paintball equipment before as she was addicted to paintball for a certain period of time. Speaking of paintball, I came across this site called Ultimate Paintball. They sell Tippmann, Spyder, Smart Parts, Dye, Empire, Draxxus paintball gear plus many more brands which you can find on our website. According to my friend this site also sells top selling paintball guns such as Tippmann A-5, Tippmann 98 Custom, Smart Parts Ion, Spyder Pilot. If you are into this type of hobby, check out their site as they have a wide list of paintball products. Also, they ship for free. As for me, I don’t think I’d ever be hooked in this kind of activity.

Prada's Spring Collection at NM

Neiman Marcus has released its Prada Spring collection and they are worth our drools and for those who could afford, your moolah hee :) Just look at this flagship banner! Goodness, my eyes are hurting just by looking at this very tasteful and elegant purple Prada bag. Don't ask about the price because it is very expensive, not really practical at this kind of economic state. (by the way, have you heard the Chanel is laying off 200 employees, tsk tsk).

And here are my favorites from their Spring Collection.

gift hunt, still

Because of the unfortunate circumstance I had with a famous online shop with regards to hubby's gifts, I am still on the hunt on what to give him. (read my previous rant about this). On the other hand, hubby has been telling not to get him anything anymore. Yes, I told him about the unfortunate incident. However, even if he insist so, I will still get him even if it will be after New Year. You see, for the past months hubby has been really generous to us and all he ever thinks is my and our son's happiness. Whenever we shop, he rarely gets something for himself. He is simple like that, very selfless.

Anyhow, I chanced upon sunglassesonline.com and found Arnette sunglasses, some Ray Bans and other nice men sunglasses. Hubby is quite picky when it comes to his sunglasses. Well, he has been very picky with almost all of his stuff, that is why giving him something has always been tedious and challenging on my part. Sunglassesonline.com carries discount price designer sunglasses by many different manufacturers, including Anarchy, Ray Ban, Angel and Body Glove. We carry mens sunglasses, women's sunglasses, unisex sunglasses, and performance sunglasses at great prices.

imitation UGGs???

UGG has been known to be the best brand of winter boots so far. I have not own one just yet but according to my friend who has one, it's worth the price. Since hubby bought me an ALDO boots this month, I might get my 1st UGG boots next winter. I'm fine with my 4 boots for this winter.

To prepare me for my UGG purchase next winter, I have been checking on buyitrighthere.co.uk site. They have a guide which could help anyone eliminate the confusion over what is and what is not a fake UGG boots. I did not even know that there were imitation uggs! Goodness! So if you are likely to buy a pair of UGG boots, might as well check out this site before you purchase one. It is good to be aware and not be fooled. After all, UGG boots are kinda pricey too. We do not want our money to be put on fake pairs.

Saturday Social

Today's Saturday Social Question:
Do you have a New Year's Resolution for 2009?

Since this blog's theme is all about shopping, I'd blog about my New Year's resolution, shopping-wise. For this year, I have shopped a lot. There were so many unnecessary purchase and impulsive shopping sprees done this year. I want to be not that kind of person anymore. I want to to focus on big purchases and investment shopping finds. (I guess by this time, you know what I mean). But, I will still keep buying clothes that are on SALE only. I will not buy apparel on regular price. Also, I will try to set aside a weekly savings for my 'shopping investment fund' so it would not be so hard on the pocket when I decide to buy them. Above all that were mentioned, I will focus on saving this year rather than spending :).

extreme weather boots

A friend from Chicago was telling me how much boots she has accumulated this year because of the extreme winter condition in her part of Chicago. She was telling me that she had to plow snow 12 inches up! And there was even one instance that she had frost bite on her legs, face and even arms because she was staying too long outside despite the fact that she was all bundled up! I was telling her that as for our weather here, we have not experienced snow this year. I think it will start falling around January as it did the last winter. She showed me some photos and goodness I can't help but feel depressed with the very white background, a bit narnia-ish even! Anyhow, this gave me an idea to check on some extreme weather boots to give hubby's bestfriend, K in Chicago. Yes we have not completed our Christmas list. So I chanced upon Wellco Boots and saw lots of boots for men, even tactical boots. I guess I will have to tell hubby to check on the site tonight and decide which one to give his bestfriend. He would certainly need more boots this winter.

By the way, if you are visiting Wellco's site please note that their customer service is prompt in answering any of your querries. Their people are even available to answer your questions over the phone Monday -Friday 8:30 - 5:00 CST.

clutches I can never EVER afford but...

...I super dooper want to have lol!
I do not know with you but I could spend less on clutches, I would probably invest on one basic black (or gold or silver) clutch and that's it. They are not meant for everyday use so they do not have to be really sturdy or durable to last long. Also, you do not want to be caught carrying the same clutch in every party right?

But for my eye candy's sake, c'mon and join me as I drool on these $1000 and beyond clutches I saw at Neiman Marcus. SIGH!!!

Michael Kors Jeweled Python Clutch ($1495)

Judith Leiber Lulu Butterfly ($3995)

Christian Louboutin Cancan Feathered Leather Clutch ($1215)Prada Degrede Clutch ($1215)
Judith Leiber Nymph Curved Rectangle Clutch ($4995)

Jimmy Choo Metallic Leather Clutch ($1495)

hello gorgeous?

They say that a woman's crowning glory is their hair, I believe in that saying. It is normal for women these days to be extra caring of their hair, sometimes bordering on getting vain. With all the hair products available, there is no reason for a woman not to care for her crowning glory. I once had a friend who used to take 2 hours ironing her hair everyday before she leaves for work. Until it came a point that she had hair loss problem caused by too much heat and by too much hair products she has been applying on her now fine and very thin hair. Fortunately, she was able to discover nioxin, a hair loss product treatment from hello-gorgeous.net. And by the way, in case you have not heard about their site, check their site as you can save up to 50% on name brands in every department. The have products not only for hair care but also on hygiene in general and some beauty products as well. Also, they offer flat rate shipping of $4.75 on all orders.

Going back to hair caring discussion, it is I who badly needed a hair treatment. My hair is just so dry it is dying to have that hot-oil treatment and it become too long and needs immediate trimming. Maybe, after the busy holiday season, I’d schedule an appointment with my stylist.

sleeping well?

They say as we grow old, we tend to sleep less. No wonder why my folks who used to love sleeping, are always awake very early (no matter what time they sleep at night) around 3-5am! However, I think this is not applicable to me because I am just sleeping more and more as I grow older. I remember when I was younger, I wanted to be always up and about to be able to play more. I even faked my afternoon naps. But at this age where I need to sleep late and be awake early even before anyone in the household is awake, I sleep more and I find it hard to get up early. Or probably these situations are caused by my pure laziness hee. Anyways, a friend of mine who has sleep apnea was telling me how hard it is for her to be able to sleep well. She always has to assign someone in their household to check on her from time to time while sleeping. Also, there are days where she could no longer sleep because of inner worries. If you doubt that you have sleep disorder or has been diagnosed with a sleeping disorder, I found this informative site where you find quite a vast information on sleep disorders as well aas all the medical centers and doctors nationwide that treat sleep disorders and cure sleep apnea. Visit sleepdisordersguide.com.

GAP big sale.

I know everybody is checking out the Christmas after sales. Here's a huge sale from Gap. Add another 25% off all their sale items. All you need to do is enter SALE at checkout. This is valid until December 29 only and is being offered online only. There are a few items that I really find nice in their Sale section but since I am on no purchase until 2009, I won't give in to this temptation hee.

what I wore #2 (on Christmas)

We were blessed with a very fine weather on Christmas eve and day. We were having around 60s-70sF temperature. While some may consider this a bit hot, we were fine by it. I wore a sweater dress which was a gift to me by my friend, C and paired it with a black Aldo boots that was given to me by hubby. I need to lose weight!

The necklace is Gold Brass Flower with Pearl I bought at Etsy.
Also, I paired the outfit with my vintage Coach tweed satchel bag with plum trimmings :). It was hubby who chose what purse goes well with my dress and he was right.
What did you wear?

size 12 women's shoes!

I am lucky to have a normal petite shoe size. A friend of mine who is 3 inches shorted than me has a shoe size of 9! I was laughing so hard at her because she hated her shoe size too much. You see, she is 4'11 and she thinks that she looks like Donald Duck with her big feet. While I do not see anything abnormal about it, she said that she always have a hard time looking for nice shoes because of her shoe size. So just imagine women with shoe sizes 11, 12 and up!

Samanta shoes is where women with bigger shoe size can go to. Their Size 12 womens shoes are just equally fashionable as those with regular shoe size designs. They say that manufacturers are reluctant to cater to the oversize women’s shoe market because statistics show that millions of women can’t find shoes that fit correctly. Samanta realizes that many women that wear larger shoe sizes are fashionable, and frustrated by the lack of availability of stylish shoes in their size.
Theis shoe collection handcrafted in Brazil and retailing at specialty boutiques and samantashoes.com at $150-$200 for shoes, and $250-$350 for boots. Some of the stars that wear Samanta shoes include Tyra Banks, Debra Messing, Sanaa Lathan, Geena Davis, Sophia Bush, Queen Latifah, Rachel Bilson, and Rihanna.

a new life.

People these days can be easily caught up with everyday stress and hectic daily schedule. Once a friend of mine asked me how to improve your life related questions and all I could answer her were vague explanations. I mean it is really too hard to give advise when I am no expert on this. I do not know of any one who even is so steady in most aspects of his/her life that he/she does not want to improve his/her life. If you are looking for ways on how to improve or transform your life, the Mindful Living Network gives out entertaining but enriching and educational ways on how to bring the meaning to their lives and how to live mindfully everyday. The creator, Dr. Kathleen Hall is an internationally recognized lifestyle expert in stress and work/life balance. Some of their viewers were able to find their passion, face their fears and eventually transform their lives into what they want to be. The show also gives out information on how one can put balance in their lives. I would likely recommend the site to my friend as she wanted to have some insights from the experts on how she could improve her life.

was Santa good to you?

So did everyone get what they wished for this Christmas? While I did not exactly wish for a specific item (more of something that could not be bought), I am happy with all my presents this Christmas. I know it's a little bit late to greet you as it is 10:53pm of dec25 on my part of the world, here's wishing everyone a Blessed and Happy Christmas!

catch the gifts but not the flu!

Last night, hubby and I went out for our last minute shopping of gifts. Goodness it was one chilly trip. I swear I got colds right after our trip back home :(. Poor little boy, we had to drag him and so he was so tired and exhausted when he got home. He also has runny nose and was coughing so hard. I wonder if it was a flu because a few weeks ago, he had fever. Anyhow, we scheduled him for a doctor's appointment to rule out what he is feeling. In the meantime, have you taken your flu shot? I know how devastating it is to catch a bad nasty flu but unfortunately, hubby and I have overlooked to take my shots. He does have the shots, but we always have excuses not to take mine. Our schedules do not meet. I chanced upon this Beta Glucan supplements that could combat anyone from the flu season. I did not know that there are supplements for flu. All I know is that as long as you eat the right diet and take the right amount of vitamin C, you'd be fine but I guess not! If you are interested, check out the site and start boosting your health and immune system this flu season!

don't rush, there's still New Year's eve

One of the best way to relax during the holiday season is not to rush on your Christmas Shopping. And if you already missed out some of the items in your Christmas list, don't rush it! Your family and friends will understand. You can always make up during the New Year's celebration. I don't mind a late gift and I know when a gift given to me is not well-thought of. Anyhow, NeimanMarcus just released their new online arrivals after Christmas Sale items. Think UGG boots and MJ and Juicy Couture bags all 40-50% off! Just click on the picture below and you'd be redirected to the sale page.

Just in case, you do not want to spend your money on shopping sprees and invest on something worthwhile, say education? Check out these degree programs being offered by capella.edu.

plan for 2009

Since I have generous and loving friends who gifted me with 3 Planners, a BDJ, a starbucks and a Moleskine, I have no reason not to plan my 2009 and be less organized. In fact, it has been a habit for me and hubby to plan our year during our wedding anniversary, a day after Christmas :). One of the things I am planning is to be able to complete my graduate studies program by end of next year or early 2010. Since I will do a lot of paper works, I deserve a neat table organizer, working table and a very relaxing chair! In fact, I have been checking on literally every office furniture at officeworks.com.au. Hubby will try to check if shipping will come out cheaper as he also like their furniture. Otherwise, we'd have to settle what we have in the neighborhood furniture store which do not have these kind of pretty choices.

Luxury Sale

Like what I blogged a few days after The Black Friday, if you're shopping for apparels, shoes and purses wait till Christmas sale as they have bigger sale especially in these times where retailers are mostly affected. If you are thinking of giving something lucrative and special for your loved ones, try NeimanMarcus online, they are having a huge sale!
*For free rush delivery by Christmas, please note adding Gift Wrap may delay the shipping of your order. Then follow these steps during checkout:

1. Enter the code QUICKNM into the promotion code box (promo is entered in the box located on the "Shopping Bag" page just above the "Continue Checkout" button).

2. Select standard shipping as your shipping method. You will automatically be upgraded to rush delivery.

here are some very discounted finds, i'd love to receive one yoohoo Santa LOL!

For all luxury shoppers out there, don't forget SHOPBOP.com is also on huge huge sale :)

babyphat

The first I saw a BabyPhat item was when I attended a party with hubby where one of the guests was wearing a pair of this ultra chic BabyPhat Shoes, I was smitten! I mean can you see how pretty those shoes are? Then she matched it with a balloon slacks, she was so fabulous that night. Only to find out that she was also carrying a BabyPhat purse. I never knew that this brand was a big hit here especially to funky juniors and women. As expected, when we came home from the party, I began to google the brand and land on their website. Although, I love some of their products the product altogether is not my type. It is so funky and trendy and that is not me. But if you are, visit the site, there are a lot of sale items and is currently running a free next day shipping for $100 dollars worth of purchase. Their collection of purses is what attracted me more and most of them are on sale. Prices are below $100 and they even have $40 (minus the sale discount) worth of purses. This satchel and hobo bags are some of my favorites. I have yet to check on the material but with the price, it does not really hurt to pay that amount for a trendy chic bag right? If you have not found a gift for yourself just yet, check out the site.

mental age

I am supposed to be doing other things but I chose to do this mental age meme while watching Polar Express with my boys. It's funny that I was able to finish half of my filing to dos in 20 minutes! It was really fast and I was in such a good mood doing it. I think I'd be able to finish half of it in less than 20 minutes.

superbowl party ideas.

My 1st ever Superbowl experience last year was a bit odd, odd and indifferent for that matter. I have no idea that it was that huge in this country. Moreso, in hubby's family side since we have a couple of pure American relatives. During that eventful day, all I want to do was tinker over at Walmart and see what I could get myself and the little boy as the rest of the family was so focused on the tube, not minding the food that was set up. I tell you they were such fanatics! Hubby gave in only after the game was finished. And boy oh boy, I remembered how clear and silent the streets were, Walmart had 2 cashiers only at that time. When we went back home, a group of bald men parked their car in the middle of the street and shouted and undress their shirts. Obviously, their team won! To compensate with my oddities last year, I am into looking out for the most exciting, fun but less expensive superbowl party ideas just to contribute to what hubby's cousins are planning for next year. I just found some superbowl party-related ideas at celebrations.com. Do check out the site, you might even find Holiday party ideas and games as well.

how it is to stay forever 21?

This is a new dress arrival at where else, my favorite brand: Forever21. I laveeet!!!

Friends ask me why I love that store so much. You see, Forever21's clothing apparel are so affordable but the kind of materials they use are still high standards. Their collection varies from Junior to working women, depending on how trendy or chic or classic you want to be. Also, their small and medium sizes fit me perfectly or shall I phrase that with as if they were customized to my own size. Back home, Bayo is my IT clothes store, here, that would be Forever21 :).

flattering kimono dress

Since I am still waiting for the time till I fit perfectly in This Dress, I was about to get this kimono in green a month ago. I tried it last week and yes, this is the perfect dress for those with extra flabs. I perfect dress to hide them :). I was just not into purchasing the green just yet because it is very Spring-y.

and would you believe I saw Mariel Rodriguez wearing this in green as well?

i want!

Forever21 never fails me. I just love every little thing they sell. Currently, I am drooling over this tunic dress but I need to have a toned body to match with this first hee. hee. Motivation, more motivations! I dare myself to fit in this dress next year!

and my twitter mommy is...

...GLO!

Thank you so much mommy for diligently granting one of wishes and for immediately sending the Target Gift Card. Although, I had to return the Anya Hindmarch Bag because the craftmanship was disappointing. You made us happy because our Christmas tree ornaments have been completed through your giftcard. Thanks a bunch! Know that these ornaments will stay with us forever!

I'll post a photo our our finished tree in my personal blog in a wee bit...

Hot! Hawte! Haute!

Although, I am not into this Twilight bug and Edward Cullen fever, I just can't pass this photo of R.P. with his new haircut. Cutie!!! and of course we have the same Plaid Shirts. No not brands of course, but similar plaid prints :). I like him better this way hee hee. photocredit: perezhilton.com
