I think I am not really a fashionista type of girl as I do not comprehend why some designers make this kind of shoes?! This was part of the Spring 2009 Collection. Anyhow, I doubt if Katie Holmes or Victoria Beckham (who apparently sleeps with gloved, heavily moisturized hands and bootied, thick foot-creamed feet almost every night to keep her extremities baby soft. source) would wear this! Would you?

Instead of doing what I need to do right now, I revisited the Banana Republic site and I've got more blings. I think their prices are quite reasonable considering the make of these fabulous costume jewelries, as referred to by our moms.

Look closer girls, an accessory can make a simple outfit look dashing and fabulous. So it's alright to splurge on accessories from time to time. Make sure to buy at least the semi-precious ones so their luster lasts long. I guess I'm not really your gadget-type of girl as I would trade my ipods anytime with these fab fashion must-haves!

outlet shopping.

I have not met anyone who has been here in north America and does not love outlet shopping! After all, it is in the outlet mall that we find better but cheaper designer and branded stuff. There are 2 outlets where I have been that I would love to go back, one in Virginia almost in the D.C. area and in Las Vegas. In both outlets, the taxes were low compared to the outlets in California. Also, there were more stocks in Virginia, I do not know why. So, on our trip to the west coast on December, I would not miss swinging by Las Vegas. Other than the fact that one of my favorite Aunts lives there, I need to do my Christmas shopping in my favorite outlet.

Also, a friend mentioned that golfing in Las Vegas is super fun. I may not be a golfer but I am intrigued at the wonderful packages that lasvegasgolfing.com offers. Do you know of a person who turns up the airconditioner while she or he snuggles under her comforters and blankets (even piles and piles of them)? Well, I am that kind of person. My other friend, M is also like that. That is why when traveling with our other friends, we are assigned on the same room so we won't have any qualms on the room's temperature. We both want the room ultra cold but we need our comforters to keep us warm, strange? Right now, we want to include these Cashmere Blankets on our collection of blankets and comforters. They seem to be really really warm and comfy. Also, they are hand made and made out of natural fiber not to mention that every purchase contributes towards planding trees.

My friend, M and I were chatting this morning about (what else) but bags and her employment screening :). She was telling me that she wouldn't buy another LV monogram canvass because they get dirty easily as compared to other designs. I have to agree with her. She was asking for a cleaner and all I know from the bag forums I read is to use damp cloth and gentle hands. While others clean with an appleguard product, other baghags do not promote this. I guess the best way is to clean them is through the use of damp cloth and gentle hands as often as you could so the dirt won't accumulate. Unless you know of any product, please leave me a comment.

My friend, J was telling me when we were looking for an apartment, to check on the latest fumigation done on our potential place. Apparently, some insects even bed bugs come and hide depending on the season. And while I thought that bed bugs originate on old beds, I am wrong! While hubby was leisurely surfing on some BMW steering rack and other car accessories, he threw a loud --Huh?! Fashion?! A Yahoo news prompted him into this D&G Spring 2009 fashion show sporting models with PJs. YES PJs! I always love PJs because they make me look thin and tall :). But, I'm not sure if these PJ-inspired springwear will be a hit, outdoor that is.

One time, I was about to get a Proactiv for my cousin until she told me that she already got one for herself. Do you know that there are some supermodels who started out with having serious acne on their face, arms and back? I read it somewhere that model agencies see skin problems as something not really serious as compared to height, stance and body built. After all, skin problems can be corrected easily with proper medication and treatment but height and built, now that is something they call as models' X factors :).

It is a common fact that many celebrities and models succumb to addiction whether it be drugs or alcohol. It is just sad to see them slowly being eaten up their addicton and wasting their talents, popularity and this one chance of fame. While others would admit themselves to an alcohol rehab center or drug treatment center, others are in denial until they see themselves being talked about (in not a good way) by their followers. I wish that these celebrities and models do the right thing as many young ones look up to them as their role models.

My friend, M was kidding me that she won't visit this site anymore because she couldn't find any clothes that would fit her here. You see, she used to take those weight loss pill and then stopped. When she stopped, her rebound weight was more than doubled. I told her she could still lurk here by checking on the nice purses and shoes, after all those designer purses see no size :).

I can still clearly remember how the last hurricane that passed by our city ruined my Aunt-In-Law's business stall signage. She was so devastated about it as that particular signage was custom-made and was way way expensive for their budget. They needed something really catchy as they are opened till 11 in the evening. Also, the business was slowly declining that they thought changing the business logo signage would change this declining direction and would attract more customers. True enough, the revenue increases after a couple of months. Probably the signage did some helping, I think.

So when their old signage got busted, she asked for my help to look for a supplier, a cheaper one that is. As I was making my research, I chanced upon Banners New York. Metro Sign Communications does custom-made and similar banners. They have been renowned in this business as they were established for more than 23 years. However, they only do business in New York and surrounding areas. So we had to look for another supplier. They found immediately and they made some revision in the logo and wordings. I just hope that the current signage is built-in strong enough for any natural disaster.

I was surprised how meticulous he was, to the point of asking me every little details. He even wanted the caller ID to be deleted from our services. Apparently, he was checking on this Caller Identification service he saw from the net. Even unknown callers can be searched from their database. Now, that is something to be thought about.

There is this red patent nine west bag I saw during my last TJ maxx visit that won't let me sleep. It was on sale! But, hubby advised me to save the money for a big designer bag purchase. I need to finish up some back-log and I think I deserve a little time off the bed. Gawd, I have never been this sick before in my entire life and I always have someone to look after me when I am sick. Now, I have to force myself and push my butt off to (still) finish some house chores in between blogging tasks.

Every part of me hurts, my head, my limbs, my throat and my colds and coughing just won't stop! I just hope I lose all of my flabs after this, as if I took some diet pills.

Going Green, Going Gone.

Last week, the vast of trees at the back of our townhome were all cut. A new community of apartments are being built because of apartment shortage in our city. However, the entire time, my heart bled for the trees being hauled by the trucks. It just saddens me that more and more trees are being replaced by establishments and homes. I understand the fact that the population is growing but it takes a long time (even years) to grow trees. I used to work for an environment NGO and my environmental sides were honed there. I realized though, that we can contribute on saving our mother earth not only on protecting our beloved greens and trees but in simple ways. How many of you use so many spray repellants at home? I do. For insects, and even sprays that would enhance the smell of our home. However, some of these repellant sprays can harm our environment and air. So be wary that everytime you go to a grocery to grab one, make sure to get only the environment-friendly. Moreso, get your repellants such as this rabbit repellent from havahart.com. We only have 1 mother earth, let's all try our best to save it.

sting!

My son has a terrible allergy to sting bites. When he was barely a year old, he was bitten by some insect similar to fire ant bites and it was swollen for several weeks. So, I always make sure that our home is free from this kind of insects. I notice they usually come out during the change of season. Seriously, I am now considering on getting a host for my sites. I think I deserve one if it would really maximize my blogging time. A friend of mine was supposed to migrate in New Zealand but they had to postpone their plans to another year or a couple more years because her husband still needs to take some extra culinary courses at some major and famous culinary schools. I was shocked to find out about this because friend’s hubby is already an experienced chef and has been working in a 5-star hotel. In fact, because of too much work and too much commitment in the culinary industry, he got so many awards from his employer. But I learned later on that it was a decision that came from my friend’s hubby. He wanted to hone his skills more before the migration. He wanted to land a high-paying job as soon as they move. I had my own share of the fashion industry, while I once dreamed of becoming a famous make-up artist, my friend, V wants to be a personal stylist. Despite the perks and happiness I found while working in endless and sleepless shoots, I just need to choose between motherhood and being a make-up artist. I chose the former, maybe someday soon, I could still be a make-up artist professionally, not famous but out of my passion and hobby :). I just got off the phone with a friend who recently gave birth to her 1st bundle of joy. It hit me that I have missed on a lot of special occasions of my friends. a different kind of summer

It is starting to get colder each day. Despite the fact that the weather is still quite erratic at noon time, we have turned off the main switch of our airconditioner and opened the windows to welcome the autumn breeze in our humble abode. Too bad as we only get to go out once (only!) during the entire summer, and that is in Busch Gardens. We have not even visited a single beach resort during this summer. I told hubby that next summer, we should get to visit at least one beach nearby. In fact, I was ready with so many plans and summer get-away but with hubby's schedule, it is quite impossible to get a decent summer trip.

It's about time that I start upgrading my closet to let's say a bit matured.
But of course, not to make me look old but more of wiser (or more of a woman, less of a girl) hee.

I think I'd have to cut down on my prints and loud colors.
And go more on plains and earthly colors.

Also, I'd have to be a little more experimental on shoes :)
I have to start wearing sophisticated shoes than just the comfty ones.

My friend who is a biker insist that this sport and ride is more hazardous to the biker itself. I have to agree with him. Despite my endless quest for living the healthy life and practicing quite a less-carbo and less fats diet, my post-pregnancy tummy flabs just won't go away, I guess I just have to admit that this badge of motherhood is here to stay. Camouflage prints are nice but I wouldn't be caught sporting one. While my toddler of 3-years old loves them to bits (being an army or soldier is one of his lifelong dreams), I try to avoid buying him a camou-printed shirts, pants, shorts or hoodie. I do not know why, it's just not my cup of tea.

It dawned on me this morning as I was thinking of another bag investment that my personal effects purchases have become more mature and wiser, not necessarily more expensive. Hubby, on the other hand has been telling me ever since we met 13 years ago, that my purchases should always be quality over quantity. It was only now that I have taken that statement seriously.

I have been very careful with my purchases lately, I wanted something that would last a long time in my closet, something that I would still love to wear after 5 or 10 years from now.

So would I pay a little extra for something worth it? I would.

it's gay to be gay!

I am surrounded with a lot of loving and wittingly funny gay friends. I swear they would make my worst days funner and better. They always know when to crack the best jokes. My life won't be complete without them. When one of my closest gay make-up artist friend H, came to visit the country this year, I was not able to meet up with him. Both of our schedules were so hectic that we could not accommodate such meet-up. We did spend a good 2 hours in the phone catching up with each other stories but it must have been a lotta fun if I had the chance to meet up with him and probably, tour him around the city. He loves to travel a lot! He would save up for travelling and is quick to say yes when someone invites him to join a Gay Friendly Travel spree. He was delighted with the site and was quick enough to reply to my email. I think he is heading for another trip soon, now with his new-found gay travel friends.

It is no longer surprising to know that more and more mommies are going for online shopping over going to malls and stores. Online shopping has become very convenient for us mommies especially if we are too busy to go to the mall during the day. We usually surf or online shop on the wee hours when our kids are in lalaland. Personally speaking, I have found online shopping to be very convenient on my part especially when I learned about discount coupons as well as getting regular emails to track their promos and sales. Also, online shopping do not only save time but also it makes you more aware of the current trends.

When my twitter mommy/friends were talking about halloween costumes for their kids and also adult costumes for them and their hubbies. I was a bit alarmed and started checking out online shops for my son's costume as he need to sport a newer costume this year. I found a site that offers these unique childrens costumes. They even have animal costumes and pretend-play costumes which I find very very cute. They have newer versions of Ironman, Starwars and Batman costumes which I am eyeing for my son. Despite my claim that I would rather use my debit card over my credit card when shopping, I am disappointed when some establishments do not have a credit card processing system as option for their customers. Especially when you want something so bad and found out that it is on sale then you check your wallets, your cash is short, dang! When I was ready to pay for what is in my cart, they're no longer available for purchase. Worse, there are newer yummy pieces that would cost more than my budget. I really wish Forever21 accepts paypal so I wouldn't have to wait till my paypal credits reflect on my debit card (yes debit, I don't use credit card for shopping, bait noh hehe!)

And since hubby brought me for outlet shopping last Tuesday, the shopping budget/birthday gift he gave me was slashed by more than half already. Yay! I guess I'm left with a jacket and that cheap pink flats.

It was very sweet of hubby to purchase an annual subscription of MarieClaire and lifestyle magazines for me. I was surprised to get the 1st issue of both magazines in our mailbox. He really knows how to perk me up. But, this was the catch, he wanted me to read on weight loss tips LOL! Also, he wants me to get some home decorating ideas from these magazines. He knows that I have tons of these back home but I just stopped purchasing them as I cannot see the need to have one. I am online everyday and where else can I get the freshest information on lifestyle? Of course the internet. Currently, my favorite website that tackles on women issues is mylifetime.com.
